Twenty Oh Eight!

I’ll be working on New Year’s Day, so here I am wishing everyone a quick Happy New Years! Yay for a new yeaaaaar! :D My only resolution is to lose weight (ugh, I really need to actually push myself on doing this), but it’s kind of hard in the type of culture and background I’m in. You know, when everyone gets together to eat, sing, and oh guess what, eat some more. I do miss watching firecrackers go boom during midnight to the first hour of New Year’s in front of my house. Those were fun.

Do you have any resolutions? Plans for 2008?

dakljdslk I miss the fireworks so much too.

It really sucks that they’re illegal here in the US except if you have a license or something. Stupid.

Haha I don’t any resolutions, they tend to not work for me. xD -horrible at keeping things up-

Nope, no resolutions. :D I always end up breaking them so I just stopped making resolutions.

    Happy New Year, Eina. :)

I only remember one New Years in the Philippines, but it was probably the most fun evening that I do remember. (There may have been a few non-remembering nights that might be up there too.)

I had just turned eight, and it was the first I got to hold a shotgun. I don’t know why they did this, but along with the hordes of fireworks and firecrackers going off, they seemed to like shooting random ammunition into the sky.

So they gave me a gun to shoot. I wasn’t sure to think, “Yeah! This is every boy’s dream (aside from owning a candy factory and watching Saturday morning cartoons all the time)” or “Oh my gosh, I’m scared”. I saw my other cousin doing it, so I shot a round.

It wasn’t very exciting compared to what I thought it would be like, or how others would explain to me in the future. My gun shooting days are long over.

As a first time commenter, I should say hi.

For resolutions, I have too many.
    - Learn how to use my DSLR (Nikon D40x) properly, and take better photos.
    - Use my PDA (Dell Axim X51v), at least more than once a week.
    - Post on my blog regularly (and not once every day for 2 weeks, then not again for four months)
    - Lose the holiday weight, train for faster Sun Run time (my first time was exactly an hour and seven seconds, and that was without any training), and start using the SFU gym.
    - Learn how to negotiate web design/programming prices. (A friend of mine is making $2000 for a fan club site! Sure, it includes a full backend admin section and a custom made photo gallery, but PHP is simple.)
    - Stay off academic probation.
    - Move to Burnaby, to get closer to school.

I should probably write a post like this for my own blog… *ponders over this*

I miss the fireworks too. Where I live you can only use fireworks on holidays such as Canada Day, etc. which is too bad because I really do love watching fireworks. My resolution for the past few years has been to lose weight…and it has not exactly been going as planned =D. Anyways, here is wishing you a very Happy New Year!
