October brainfart…

Ahh, October’s coming up. Hell, it might even be October for some of us already. Apparently, Thanksgiving (Canada) is also coming up. I still can’t keep track of all these new holidays I should be remembering. Come to think of it, I haven’t really bothered learning Canada’s national anthem. I do know that the song is called “Oh Canada”, so I guess I’m not too ignorant about it.

Sad part is, I don’t quite remember the Philippines’ national anthem correctly, anymore. Eh, I suck.

Another part of October is that this is when the sniffles and the coughs starts rolling back in. I suppose I’ll dub this The Sick Season, because almost everyone I know is or will be sick. In fact, even my customers are sick. Imagine asking them whether they want their meal upsized and what you get for an answer is a big whopping cough or sneeze. Yeah.

I’ll try my best not to be sick this month (even though my throat is already hurting), so bring it on, sniffles!

And tomorrow night (October 1 - Pacific time), sign-ups for NaNoWriMo will begin. I can’t wait! I’m excited even though I don’t really have a plot yet… anyone signing up?

Anyone looking forward to something special this month? Halloween, maybe? Feel free to share :D

Lol I’d love to go Halloween this year. I’ll wear a black garbage bag with two holes over me.

And hope you feel better soon. :/

I know, it’s so October. I swear, time flies by TOO fast doncha think?

I mess up the national anthem too. But we don’t got it bad, some people who live in the Philippines alone and sing it almost everyday still got the lyrics wrong! Haha lol @ them (covering up my own negativity haha)

    Okay here we go!

    Oh Canada
    Our home and native land
    True patriot love
    In all our hearts’ command
    With glowing hearts
    We see the rise
The true north strong and free
    From far and wide
    Oh Canada
We stand on guard for thee
    God keep our land
    Glorious and free
    Oh Canada
We stand on guard for thee
    Oh Canada
We stand on guard for thee

    NOW… in French!

    Oh Canada
    Terre de nos aïeux
    Ton front est ceint
    Des fleurons glorieux
Car ton bras sait porter l’épée
    Il sait porter la croix
    Ton histoire est une épopée
    Des plus brilliant exploits
    Et ta valeur
    De fois trompée
Protegera nos foyers et nos droits
Protegera nos foyers et nos droits.

FYI: The French version is not a translation of the English one. It’s a completely different song, with no correlation whatsoever.

Also, you will almost NEVER catch a Quebecois person singing either version. The Quebecois people I know, don’t even KNOW either version.

Yay! Thanksgiving! Gotta love the food! … oh, and the being thankful part… :P

    Yay, Halloween!
Well, nobody here actually dresses up for Halloween, but I shall be different once again! *has no Idea what to wear*

Anyway, I love October. I hope it will be sunny so I can take walks through the forests and do other … err … poetic things.
